As a physician with a strong interest in the mental health benefits of physical exercise, Dr. Ozkarahan has obtained additional qualifications as a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutrition Coach, Women’s Fitness Specialist, and Behavior Change Specialist by the most respected leader in fitness certification — the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). She continually stays current with her knowledge and re-certifies her NASM credentials every two years. As a water enthusiast, Dr. Ozkarahan is also a PADI-certified Open Water Diver.
With a warm, personable, and conversational approach to psychotherapy, she integrates gentle medication management only when necessary. Dr. Ozkarahan’s expertise in exercise science and nutrition allows her to empower patients towards a healthier lifestyle through a holistic and action-oriented model to psychiatric treatment. She will help navigate behavioral challenges such as motivation, prioritization of exercise in the face of competing time demands, adherence, and dietary modification.
