As a physician with a strong interest in the mental health benefits of physical exercise, Dr. Ozkarahan has obtained additional qualifications as a Certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, Women’s Fitness Specialist, and Behavior Change Specialist by one of the most well-respected Personal Training organizations in the country — the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). She is also a PADI-certified Open Water Diver.
With a warm, personable, and interactive approach to psychotherapy, she integrates pharmacological management only when medically necessary. Dr. Ozkarahan’s expertise in exercise science and nutrition allows her to adopt an action-oriented model to psychiatric treatment and empower patients towards a healthier lifestyle. She will help navigate behavioral challenges such as motivation, prioritization of exercise in the face of competing time demands, adherence, and dietary modification. While collaboration with existing psychotherapists is welcome, Dr. Ozkarahan can administer all of these services as one clinician.
